Client:

VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars

Use:

Centralized location for individual Posts to create their monthly newsletters in a unified manner.

Problem:

Many VFW Posts produce newsletters for their Post membership. Each Post was left entirely to its own devices to compose and produce its own newsletters. Posts have difficulty relying on volunteer efforts alone to compose, duplicate, fold, apply postage, mail and get reimbursement. Some Posts have difficulty getting consistent efforts from volunteers who have busy schedules themselves. Individual Posts have difficulty obtaining mailing permits and complying with the preparation requirements to present their mailing properly.

Solution:

The VFW was able to replace the old system of newsletter distribution that relied on hand-written lists at a Post by Post level with EZ News web to print by Sebis. Using this system the Posts are able to compose their newsletters using templates, upload the templates where they are imaged to PDF soft-proofs and then send out printed copies to managed lists on their extranet site.

EZNews is a trail-blazing new Internet system that mails Post newsletters with just a few mouse clicks. Advanced Internet technology removes the headaches -- printer issues, labels and stamps -- and gives the newsletter editor back his job. It's simpler and more cost-effective for everyone when both the printing and the mailing are performed by one central service. Documents including response devices, provider directory, ID cards and even reproduced application images were integrated into an automated print-on-demand policy.

Result:

A better count of who receives the newsletter, increased revenue, and higher response rates. Easier to manage, straightforward interface allows even novices to create high quality content.

Client says:

"As for the formatting and preparation of the document, nothing could be easier...With just a few little adjustments, I had the letter ready to go to print within a couple of hours. This will allow smaller posts to send a newsletter out using bulk rate postage and not have that large fee to pay to the post office. It definitely is one of the greatest tools that we have had from Headquarters in quite some time."
- VFW Member & Newsletter Editor Mike Howell

VFW Post 12003 member and editor Mike Howell recently used EZNews to produce the Post's monthly newsletter. Howell chose a 4-page layout and had little trouble producing the newsletter for the Lansing, Kansas, Post. He had been using Microsoft Publisher to produce the newsletter, but said Post members liked the product so much that they voted to switch to EZNews.
