Location History

Sebis Direct, Inc. was incorporated in 1989 from an earlier corporation called Sebis Inc.

Sebis was originally located in the central business district of Chicago in the River North neighborhood. It was relocated to the the South Loop on 2 floors of the White Tower building located at 847 West Jackson Blvd in Chicago.

By this time Sebis was established as a high integrity, high complexity document production firm. Approximately 50% of all documents produced were heathcare related bills and statements. The remaining volume spread out over banking, insurance, marketing and government activities.

When it was obvious that a second location was needed, Sebis purchased a 70,000 sq ft building in the inner ring Chicago suburb of Bedford Park. This location is less than 1000 ft from the USPS South Suburban Processing and Distribution Center (P & DC). UPS and Fedex also have a large presence here due to it's proximity to downtown Chicago, interstate highways, railways, and Midway airport. With this location, Sebis has been able to quickly release large volumes of mail and packages of every kind into the world's largest shipping logistics networks.

When the lease was canceled at the primary location in downtown Chicago, Sebis needed to select a new secondary location. It was eventually decided to relocate the Headquarters to the Bedford Park location and locate a new site in another city. While Sebis renovated the Bedford Park facility by establishing an on-site power generation, new lighting, offices, and divided production spaces, the search for a secondary site continued. Hurricane Katrina changed the landscape of disaster recovery, requiring that the secondary location could not be within the Chicago social and economic region. Cleveland was ultimately selected for the second location. Sebis purchased a 65,000 sq ft building in the south central area of Cleveland known as Brooklyn Heights. This building was rehabbed as well to create a modern and security compliant facility.

Well after Sebis had established their services in Bedford Park, IL, it was decided that a larger space would better fulfill the growing amount of services and capabilities provided. Therefore, in 2020 Sebis purchased a 145,000 sq ft facility down the street from their headquarters with the intention of moving all production to this location. In this move, Sebis was able to expand their production capabilities all while maintaining its proximity to the various major Processing and Distribution centers. Sebis is now currently operating out of both Bedford Park facilties with the intention of moving all services to our new location in October 2024.

While this expansion was already a huge accomplishment for Sebis, it didn't stop there. In September of 2024, Sebis made the strategic move to acquire Standard Printing Company (SPC) and its division, Information Outsource (IO), located in the Western region of the US, in Phoenix, AZ. This move was a significant milestone for Sebis Direct that expanded its services to a wider range of clientele and strengthened its document distribution capabilities. Sebis now operates out of all three production and fulfillment facilities across the nation.

Presently, Sebis operates its multiple facilities with over 70 employees. Of course, the real history is the development of Sebis' services along with the evolution of document management and production over this same time span. Sebis is dedicated to Open Sourced IT environments, languages, and toolsets. These tools and technologies have been adopted for use in the most demanding document business processes provided anywhere.
